Donald E. Weeden
Donald E. Weeden is on the Board of Directors having previously served as its Chairman. Mr. Weeden relinquished operational oversight of the firm to Barry Small when Mr. Small was appointed CEO of Weeden in 1995.
In the sixties and seventies Weeden & Co. was regarded as the leader in The Third Market. Mr. Weeden served on several committees involved in market structure including the Composite Tape Committee, Consolidated Quotation Committee, the Intermarket Trading System Committee and the SEC’s National Market Advisory Board.
In 1959 he was a founder of National Semiconductor Corporation and a Director from 1962 until 2000. Subsequent Silicon Valley venture investments included Cymer Laser, Cadence Design, and SemEquip. Mr. Weeden has also been an active investor in high technology ventures related to the securities industry including Instinet, Autex and LIMITrader. Mr. Weeden has a B.A. in economics from Stanford University. From 1952 to 1956 Mr. Weeden served in the United States Air Force.
Mr. Weeden recently completed a book titled Weeden & Co., The New York Stock Exchange and the Struggle Over A National Securities Market.
