Ellen K. Hannan

Ellen K. Hannan focuses on the oil and gas exploration and production industry. Ellen was recognized by Institutional Investor as one of the top analysts in her sector in 2006 and 2007. StarMine / Forbes named Ellen to its annual “best analysts” list for 2005 as a top-ranked sector analyst for accuracy with earnings estimates, and she has also been distinguished in the Wall Street Journal’s “Best on the Street” survey, as well as the Greenwich Associates survey for stock picking. She is a member of the National Association for Petroleum Investment Analysts and the Oil Analysts Group of New York. Hannan brings to Weeden more than 20 years of experience in identifying macro trends within the energy sector and in producing high quality investment ideas and conclusions for Institutional Investment managers. She began her career with Texaco where she spent 8 years in financial planning and analysis. Ellen then started her Wall St. career working for the highly regarded energy research firm, John S. Herold, followed by a stint on the buy side as an energy analyst at Bessemer Trust. She subsequently moved to the sell side as an analyst with Prudential Securities and was most recently with Bear Stearns, where she was a managing Director and senior analyst of the same industry. Ellen graduated from Skidmore College with a Bachelor’s Degree in Business, and she earned an MBA from Pace University.
