Rich Guastello is Weeden’s Special Situations & Risk Arbitrage analyst. He began his career 15 years ago on the sell side trading fixed income instruments, and within 3 years he moved over to analyze and to trade merger arbitrage, event and distressed debt.

From 2001 until two years ago, Rich worked at March Partners, an event driven hedge fund, where he worked in a variety of capacities supporting the firms overall portfolio strategy. He implemented option strategies for both hedging and directional investing and he also conducted detailed balance sheet analysis, and looked closely at regulatory issues and the overall structures of M&A deals. Rich was also given the added responsibility to manage a merger arbitrage, event and special situations portfolio for March Partners.

Prior to coming to Weeden in 2010, Rich was employed by CRT Capital Group where he analyzed complex merger arbitrage deals and formulated actionable trading strategies for the firm’s client base.

Mr. Guastello attained a BS in Economics and Finance from the University of Florida in 1994.
